Alle34j72.JPG (19860 bytes) Allegheny: This is a crushed stone, mostly white in color, with smaller amounts of gray, tan, and mauve. The overall appearance is that of a marble chip although this stone is not actually marble. Allegheny is available in nominal sizes of 3/8" and 3/4". It should be noted that both of these are somewhat larger than the same sizes in other stones.
Arct34j72.JPG (18436 bytes) Arctic: This is a crushed stone, mostly white in color, with smaller amounts of gray and tan. Arctic is a marble chip, and as such has a shiny appearance, especially so in full sunlight. It is available in nominal sizes of 3/8" and 3/4".
Bu34ej72.JPG (17536 bytes) Burgundy: This crushed stone is nearly 100% reddish brown with very occasional gray and white markings. Burgundy is available in nominal sizes of 3/8", 3/4", and 1 1/2". The 1 1/2" is very large, with pieces sometimes reaching lengths of 4"-5". The 1 1/2" resembles redwood bark chips in both shape and color.
Goj72.JPG (13970 bytes) Goose Egg: This is a naturally smooth, rounded stone, mostly white in color with significant amounts of yellowish beige. Goose Egg is available in a nominal size of 1"-4".
Br34ej72.JPG (17238 bytes) Grade B Red: This crushed stone is the same as Burgundy but with a greater percentage of gray. The overall appearance is still very much reddish brown. This stone is available in the nominal sizes of 3/8" and 3/4". Grade B Red is a lower cost alternative to Burgundy and is ideally suited for driveways and commercial applications.
Hb34j72.JPG (16252 bytes) Honey Beige: This beige and light gray colored crushed stone is available in a nominal 3/4" size only.
Jp34j72.JPG (17999 bytes) Jersey Pearl: This smooth, naturally rounded stone is mostly white in color with some beige, gray and pink. This stone is commonly seen in landscapes around shore areas and is similar to Shore Gravel but whiter. Jersey pearl will become even whiter over time as it is bleached by the sun. It is available in the nominal sizes of 3/8" and 3/4". Because it is smooth, Jersey pearl works well around pools and other areas where people may walk barefoot. 3/8", sometimes referred to as pea gravel, is ideal for children’s play areas. Please note that Jersey Pearl looks much darker when it is wet and before the silt that covers it has been washed It will whiten dramatically once you have spread the stone and it has been washed by the rain and then dried by the sun.
Rej72.JPG (14698 bytes) Red Lava: This unique, deeply red colored stone , is fairly rounded in shape. The nominal size range is from 3/4"-1 1/2". Although Red Lava is more expensive per ton than other types of stone, its cost is off set somewhat by its very light weight. You can expect to get about three times more coverage with Red lava over standard stone. The many small holes that occur in each piece of Red Lava make it ideal for retaining moisture, and for reducing evaporation of moisture in topsoil. This makes it ideal for use around shrubs, flowers, and other decorative plants. Studies show that Red Lava is more effective in retaining moisture than wood mulch products. This means that during periods of drought Red Lava can prevent many types of , often expensive plants, from expiring. Red Lava’s water retention capabilities will also aid in stimulating increased growth on new plantings.
Grv34j72.JPG (16433 bytes) Riverbed: This is a smooth, naturally rounded multicolored stone. The colors are mostly varying shades of gray with some red, maroon, beige and brown. The nominal sizes available are 3/8", 3/4", 1 1/2" (approx. 1"-2"), 1"-4", 3"-5", 5"-8". This stone is also available in boulders of every size. Other Riverbed products include 3/4" Crushed Riverbed, which is the same stone crushed into jagged pieces. 3/4" Crushed Riverbed is ideal for use in driveways as a more decorative alternative to Bluestone (a.k.a. Traprock). 3/4" Round Riverbed is available in "Grey Round" which is the standard color range as outlined above, and "Brown Round" which is similar but with a higher percentage of brown and red colored stones. 3/8" Riverbed, sometimes called pea gravel, is ideal for children’s play areas, and 3/4" Grey or Brown Round is a good choice for dog runs.
Ro34ej72.JPG (17037 bytes) Rose Marble:This is a white and pink crushed marble chip with a somewhat shiny appearance. The nominal sizes available are 3/8", 3/4", and 1 1/2".
Sh34bj72.JPG (18682 bytes) Shore Gravel: This smooth, naturally rounded stone is mostly yellowish beige in color. It will lighten over time. The nominal sizes available are 3/8" and 3/4". This stone is most often seen in landscapes near shore towns. It is also ideal for use around pools because the smoothness of the stone makes it easier to walk barefoot on. 3/8" stone, sometimes called pea gravel, is ideal for children’s play areas, and 3/4" is a good choice for dog runs.
Timbej72.JPG (19117 bytes) Firelite: This multicolored, light weight crushed stone is available in a nominal 3/4" size. The colors range from brown to red, beige and gray. You can expect to get about 50% more coverage per ton with this stone over standard weight stone.
Blue34j72.JPG (16963 bytes) Bluestone: This blue-gray colored stone is generally used as a construction grade material. It is available in the nominal sizes of 3/8", 3/4", 1 1/2" (approx. 1"-3"), and 2 1/2" (approx. 2"-4"). 3/8" and 3/4" are ideal sizes for driveways and parking areas. 3/4" is often used as a sub-base for concrete slabs. 1 1/2" is commonly used for dry wells and for driveways and parking areas for heavy duty trucks and machinery. 2 1/2" is mostly used for aprons and driveways going in and out of heavy construction areas.
Boj72.JPG (10400 bytes) Bocce Court Clay: This mixture of clays and sand is used for bocce ball courts and can also be used for other recreational areas such as horseshoe pits.
Qpfj72.JPG (16943 bytes) Quarry Process: This material consists of nominal 3/4" Bluestone mixed with screenings (pulverizes bluestone). It is most commonly used as a sub-base material for concrete pavers, flagstone, poured concrete and asphalt. It can also be used as a sub-base material for decorative stone driveways and parking areas or can also be used by itself for the same purpose. Quarry process is also useful for filling pot holes and for stabilizing sandy or muddy areas.
Scj72.JPG (18459 bytes) Fine Screenings: This material is most commonly used as a setting material under concrete pavers, bricks, and dry laid flagstone. It is generally used in conjunction with quarry process as the sub base. It is sometimes used, in lieu of clay, as a finished material in horseshoe pits and bocce ball courts.
Mucej72.JPG (18514 bytes) Cedar Mulch: This premium grade shredded mulch is a medium brown color with a slight reddish hue. Cedar is naturally bug resistant and will give off a pleasant odor for a while after being spread.
Muhwj72.JPG (15880 bytes) Hardwood Mulch: This double shredded mulch is a dark brown color, it appears almost black when wet. Hardwood is the most popular mulch.
Mulrej72.JPG (21677 bytes) Red Mulch: This double shredded mulch is artificially dyed with environmentally friendly colorant. The red color will stay for a surprisingly long time, and because this product is kiln dried it will take a long time to decompose.

Please Note: The colors you see on this page are as accurate as current photography and publishing techniques allow. We suggest you look at samples before you select colors. Stone is a natural product and as such is subject to variations in color and texture. All sizing of stone is approximate and can vary from batch to batch. If you have very specific requirements it is important to take the time to select your stone in person. In the case of ground cover this may include looking at the actual stockpiles rather than just display samples. In some cases this should be done close to the date of delivery as material can go in and out of stock rather quickly. Also please note that claims should be made before the stone is dumped on the ground. Bedrock Stone will not be responsible for products once they are dumped.
