The group of materials referred to as Dimensional Stone are materials that are sawn to particular dimensions and finished to particular textures. These include Step Treads, Polished Granite and Marble for Countertops and Vanity Tops, Fireplace Hearths, etc.

Materials widely used for Treads include Indiana Limestone, Tennessee Craborchard, Sawn Bluestone, Capri Limestone and  Crema Marbella. These materials are also often used as Fireplace Hearths.

Polished Granite and Marble are available in dozens of types. Either Marble of Granite are appropriate for bathroom vanities, although kitchen counters are generally done in granite because of its superior hardness and resistance to scratching and wear.
